I am in my 50's and have experience in both inside sales and customer service. I was laid off in early 2014 and spent about 6-7 months looking with no success. I then stopped looking to take care of a parent who passed away the latter part of 2015.
I have been sending out resumes, but have not received any interviews at all. Before, I was going on about 4-5 interviews a month so I know my resume must look ok. I did go to a career center and have it updated, but I don't know what to do at this point. I am considering part time, temp, contract work but not getting any calls at all.

Look for seasonal hiring, such as home centers, furniture, flooring stores and others that may need more help in the coming summer months. It may not be as good as what you did before, but will keep your experience fresh while looking for something better.
