Hope you get what you want. Brownback, the big government social conservative. The hypocrisy of it all... This is what's the matter with Kansas.

As a native Kansan, I look forward to it. It's about time. Time will tell whether Brownback's direction works. One of the nice things about federalism is it allows for a lot of experimentation at the state level unlike the one size fit all liberals impose at the national level: obamacare?

This slanted aside from the article did give me a chuckle:
Kathleen Sebelius and Mark Parkinson, were moderate Democrats.
uh huh.

The social conservatives and social liberals all have a command and control ideology in case you haven't figured it out. Brownback is quite the scary charcter, though. He wouldn't last one minute in states that could care less about social wedge issues- like Washington state.

But he is not in Washington state....he was elected in Kansas. Now that you're gone, why do you care?

I was referring to the poster who responded to my post who now lives in Washington state. The key point being most people seem to be from KS and have moved elsewhere for a variety of reasons.

A party that is so committed to small government is sure spending an awful lot of time focusing on womens' uteruses. All the focus on social "wedge" issues isn't doing a thing to improve our lives, but it is making a laughingstock out of Kansas.

By the way, you clearly are clueless about what you refer to as "obamacare". One size fits all? Really? Sorry, but universal healthcare didn't make it into the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT.

The words big government and Conservative are complete opposites. Kansas Republicans love their RINOs and have since Dole first entered politics. Brownback is every bit the Progressive. All one had to do was look at his position supporting in state tuition for illegal aliens to recognize that.

Disregarding that one postion most of his other stances are very far to the right, including the social wedge issues. Those types of wedge issues just don't fly with voters in the core Midwest states. KS will become much more of an outlier over time, indentifying with the politics of the Bible Belt IMO. This is related to the brain drain...

I wonder if Brownback is trying build a record to run for National office with? He fixed a bunch of stuff that IMO wasn't broken. Before the long term effects of his fixing start showing up he will probally move on to a higher calling. His campaign slogan will be "I took a conservative state and turned it into a conservative state" His main agenda to keep the focus off of the sacred cows in Kansas, Ag and Energy.
