Sign me up as another supporter for Mitch. Those that oppose Mitch will have to convince another Hollywood activist to run and steal over 100,000 votes from Mitch (2008, it wasn't close with non Hollywood Lunsford).

"Good for Kentucky" implies helping the economics of Kentucky to improve year after year. Extending the food stamps, welfare, and social security disability programs is not the type of help Kentucky needs from the person heading up the Executive branch of government right now.

yup. he's so good for kentucky that the majority of the eastern portion of the state is one of the most impoverished regions in all of america and has been for mconnells entire time in office. It continues to show almost no signs of economic improvement. but mitch and his buddies from the coal industry want to keep it that way. mitch is good for mitch.

Food stamp usage has quadrupled since Obama took office. Now one out of every seven houses in America receives food stamps. Economic conditions that Obama's rules have put in place along with easing qualification criteria have driven people to seek out food stamps beyond the needs of the original programs intent from the 1960's.

Disability numbers have increased five times the levels in 1972. Has America become that dangerous of a workplace? Disability is so addictive that only 1% of those in the program ever leave. Disability costs America more than food stamps and welfare Combined! And let us not forget that less people are now looking for work than when Carter was president. Disability is projected to run out of money in 2016. Let's review the Senate budget that was approved last week (but Mitch voted against it since it raises the debt another $1 trillion in 2014 (if it were ever to get pased by the House)).

If food stamps usage has increased, it is because so many have become unemployed because of the economy. The increase in disability numbers is due to the fact that for 8 years, the Bush administration made it practically impossible to obtain, resulting in a huge backlog of cases. I am disabled, and it took five years to attain it, even though I had a well documented case. I lost nearly everything in the process, and also had a heart attack while waiting for my hearing. Many others are not so lucky. Disability has a special code that they use - DXDI—for appeals dismissed because the applicant died waiting. Since 2005, the agency has made 15,043 DXDI designations. In other words, 15,043 people died waiting for their appeal. How many more patriotic Americans are the Repuiblicans willing to add to that classification?

Unbelievable. I used stats starting in the 1960's and you believe life ended in 2000and restarted in 2008 (but still hasn't recovered). Reagan did way more to stop the increase of food stamps and disability but you must have been too young to remember. At least Kentucky has less food stamp use (percentage) than Tennessee.

Yeah, Johnson, that's like a lot of people on here who thought everything with this country was just fine before Obama took office. Nothing ever happened while Daddy Bush and Little Boy Bush were in office, did it? And Mr. Mitch aint a whole lot better.

It continues to amaze me that nu-republicans continue with the dem/foodstamp stuff when it is common knowledge among those who take time to research facts instead of quote FOX, that red states and republican policies have proven statistically to be the top welfare suckers and ideologies in the country. This information is readily available. Why do they enjoy being uneducated in this matter? Its not possible for a senator to do worse than Mitch, the Mountain Top Remover - - No matter who the dems run, they probably will win, Kentucky--the country, will be better off for it.
