I live on a fixed income and am wanting to move to a town/city in Kentucky. I want a small town but don't think I could find housing unless I moved to a city.

Please do not mention Louisville because this is the area I am moving away from.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would need access to hospital (at least within 50 miles). I am hoping for physicians offices, perhaps a walmart and IGA (or other food store) fairly close by. At first I would be living in an apartment, with hopes to actually purchase my own small house in the near future.

I have been looking at both Ashland and Harlan, KY. Although they are considerable distance apart, both places seems to fit my income and apartment needs for now. If anyone has any comments on these two towns, I would really like to hear them. Thanks in advance.
