Was down in Harlan county. Pics from the drive in, my old backyard and then some:

It all looks so weird to me now! I've come a long way! Sorry about the quality, they're phone pics, some from a moving car.

Same view in the winter:

Toured the central part of Kentucky a few days ago.

Near Keenland, Midway, and Frankfort.

Nice pics UK and MrFSS.

Those mountains make me glad that we'll be heading for home in a few days.

As a senior in high school, our Civics class visited the Ky Capitol. I read or someone told me at some point that the capitol building in Ky was modeled after the US Capitol building.

Beautiful photos! I was born and grew up around Southeastern Kentucky {Stamping Ground and London area}. I presently live in East Bernstadt, Ky.

Hi Ben,

Would East Bernstadt be a good place to retire? My hubby and I are barely 60, but we're looking for a place to put a new or newer manufactured home in KY. Hopefully, a quiet area. We live in Michigan where the homes are butt to butt.. lol! We're thinking of Corbin, but heard that Bernstadt might be nice?

I personally think that between Corbin and Barbourville would be a nice place to retire Cat. Or you could retire between Pineville and Harlan I have some pictures of whats between Pineville and Harlan you will be quite impressed! I have family in Waterford, Michigan also and neighbors from Michigan.

I think this is the most beautiful area in Kentucky. My parents recently had some Ohio natives move next door and they we're amazed because neighbors still gave and helped each other.
