Can someone from the Nicholasville - Lexington area give me some information regarding local employment opportunities?

Looking for a manufacturing positions with a reputable company with good pay and benefits. Have experience in the printing, paperboard/packaging and lighting industries. Companies where the above are the primary products produced would be a plus, but open to all manufacturing.

Thanks!! Jeff

Hi Jeff!

I don't know if this will help or not, but it looks like the Lexington job classifieds (in their online newspaper) work with something called Career Builder. There are a lot of manufacturing jobs listed in both Lexington and in the surrounding area from what I was able to see.

The url for the main page is: http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky...ds/employment/

When you get to the page, go to the scroll menu that says "Select Category" and choose "Manufacturing". You'll be taken to a page that lists jobs in that region within a 5-40 mile radius (once you're taken to the page, you'll get to choose to see how far from Lexington you wish to look at for work).

Best of luck to you, Jeff, and I hope this helps a little.

I know a guy who works at the Nicholasville police department, but I live in northern KY so I have no clue when it comes to jobs in the central part of the state.
The link posted earlier looks like a good start.

Maybe your skills could be transferable in the auto manufacturing field.

Toyota is about 15 miles north of Lexington

Lex Mark is in Lexington

Georgetown and Nicholasville have several smaller manufacturing plants that make parts for TMM; TrimMaster (Nicholasville), Johnson Controls (Georgetown) Lousiville Forge (Georgetown)

Trane is in Lexington

Hebesto is in Lexington on Georgetown Road

There are two General Electric plants in Lexington one makes head lamps, the other light bulbs

Good luck

Default highliner

I live in central Kentucky, and the job markets about which you asked are excellent, especially in the manufacturing segment. Try oet.ky/jobseekers for a listing of all kinds of employers who are asking help from state gov. agencies in finding additional employees. It sure worked out for me!
