I guess you can throw that saying,(compassionate concervative) out the window after this move. If you think about it , this was most likely plan by rep. This guy not running for office again, so they have him stand up and stop the bill. That way the rest of the rep won't have to take the blame for it. You know they think it's socialism to help people that are down and out . It use to be called the American way.

By the way, that's your money that they have. The gov't - Obama admin and his congress, want to tax additional taxpayer dollars to pay for it.
I apologize for making generalizations, but I still bet I'm right, aren't I?

I'm just saying, if you're for paying for & wasting billions a year for those useless things I mentioned that are clearly just there to keep the prison-industrial complex & war machines going, & at the same time against something that helps out your fellow man in a time of need, thats pretty messed up. I don't know what that is, but it isn't Conservatism.

And that American Way is what part of this country was founded on. Now, it is everybody for himself and "we don't want to pay more taxes because poor people are sitting around and doing nothing while the government supports them." That is one of the biggest myths on the planet. People out of jobs are NOT slugs living off of the government. There are NO jobs out there for them to get.

Unfortunately, money talks in the state of Ky. most especially "old" money. Both Mitch McConnell and Bunning are fossils that should have retired long ago. Unfortunately, Ky. is a stringently conservative state that is not very progressive. Bunning retires after this yr. and has nothing to loose by doing what he does. Even when he leaves, he has a good pension to look forward to, but has no real idea how the poor and the working class in Ky. or nationwide are struggling, and neither does McConnell. Kentukians need to vote McConnell out come the next elections and since Bunning is leaving, put people in the Senate that care about their constituency instead of holding office for 40 or 50 yrs. and not getting anything done except lining their own pockets.

Good point.
Many people will have to suffer or face the possibility of becoming homeless statistics. The fact that unemployment is high doesn't register with conservatives, or they can't figure out the consequences.

Snapper, you don't know how much that I hope you are wrong with this statement. That would be purely playing dirty politics with peoples lives no matter which side of the aisle it came from.

What they want is for people to go to churches and other organization for help, but these places of help are running out of resources to help. They never where ment to be the only source. I know people that worked hard their entire lives and this is happening to them just before retirement, but the GOP thinks they're just lazy and don't want to work. Most people that work for a life time would rather be working then on unemployment, but when that's all there is they have to count on it.

Default Billion $ Embassy in London

What's the incentive for people to look for employment if they're getting a gov't handout? The well has been bled dry. There is no more money. The American taxpayers have no more to give. Seems to me with all the jobs Obama's stimulus package saved and created, the unemployed should have no problem finding jobs. Oh, that's right. It didn't create any jobs and the only ones it saved were, wait for it, in gov't.
We are in the beginning process of building a Billion $ embassy building in London. Now if we are going to cut something, I say cut out this fancy embassy and give those poor folks their unemployment.

Bunning is a joke. He's just trying to make a point at the expense of many families--with children.

I don't think this is true at all. There is plenty of smart and good people spread throughout the state. They may not vote for the same person that you or even myself might, but that is their right and their business.

Our right to vote and our other rights are gifts from those that gave much or gave all. To not vote or exercise our other rights would be throwing their gift right back in their faces.
