There is a new Chinese restaurant next to Rita's and close to Buffalo Wild Wings in Hamilton Crossings off of State of Franklin in Johnson City. I haven't been there and don't know anyone that has. Anyone here been there? I hope to stop in for lunch as soon as I can get by there.

You must be referring to Ming's Asian Cuisine. The Mystery Diner reviewed the restaurant in a recent Johnson City Press.

Ming

I, too, have yet to try it.

That's it, thank you! I remembered Asian Cuisine but couldn't remember the name so I didn't want to butcher it. Also, I got the Hamilton right but it is Place and not Crossings. My bad. I travel so much each week and see so many Places and Crossings and such all over east TN and SWVa that I get them confused.

The review was a good one, now I really look forward to trying the restaurant! Thanks again for sharing!

That is great for take out but not for a sit down restaurant. Thanks for mentioning it; I always forget about it until I meet someone for lunch at McAlister's which only happens maybe twice a year.

Ok, so I went to Ming's yesterday for lunch. The decor and interior are nice. It took forever for someone (our waiter) to appear to take our drink order; so much so that we ordered our food at the same time. He set the drinks down and ran, no straws. It took forever for the egg roll to come. When he did we got the straws. The food came out timely after that. It was not piping hot but it wasn't just warm either. It was adequate in taste but definitely not as good as China Garden. It was plenty for a lunch serving. We were dying for a drink refill. The waiter finally came back by and saw our empty glasses and asked if we wanted a refill. Um, yes please. He never showed back up. Finally a young lady came by in plain clothes and we asked her for refills and she obliged quickly and pleasantly.

The food was mediocre and most lunch dishes are $7.99 to include egg roll, rice and entree. Soup is extra. The decor is nice. Our particular server was absolutely awful.

I am sad that this is my report. I will probably give this place another try sometime but I will never again agree to sit in that waiters section. I felt myself wishing that I could combine China Garden food into that location and dining room.
