Is this a good area of town? A few homes are on the market and considering looking in this area.

I grew up in Greeneville. This is a good, older area of town that I like. You are real close to downtown. Most of the retail and commercial stuff is going further east on 11-E in the opposite direction. So, you will be a bit further from Johnson City and the shopping/retail that is out that way, but not a big deal. You are still near plenty of stuff in town.

You are near Hal Henard Elementary and Greeneville Middle School, two great city schools. You are also near the Asheville Highway if you want to make the short (but windy and crooked) trip over the mountains to North Carolina.

The only parts that may be a little sketchy would be further west of town headed towards the Newport Highway or several blocks north near the post office. You are far away enough from both that I wouldn't have any worries. And they truly aren't that bad anyways.

What are you looking for as far as location and/or neighborhood?

Forest Street is a beautiful area of Greene County to live. The neighbors are, for the most part, friendly but not too friendly if you know what I mean. The Veterans Park is located there. A very rewarding hiking trail if one enjoys nature walks is also a great part of Forest street. A very nice gentleman who is in law enforcement lives on this street as well. There is also the convenience of a good elementary, middle, and high school with many learning opportunities for children and young adults. Grocery stores are just a hill away. I grew up on Carson, the next street over, and although things had changed when I moved back, this is still a great area to enjoy simple life.
