I've read some older posts regarding utility rates and some people said they are high there. Does anyone have an apprx. 1200-1500 sq. Ft. Newer home, that could tell me what you pay for gas, water & electric in summer & winter months?
What about cable tv,sewer, trash? I'd appreciate it.
Do you normally get enough rain to keep your grass watered?
Thank you, i appreciate your help.:d

Partly depends on which utility company you wind up with.

I have BTES, an 1100 ft house, older but with new roof and insulation, new doors and new double pane windows. All electric. 2 people with thermostat at 70-72F in winter and 74-76F in summer.
From my last billing statement, rounded
2011
May- $50
June- $65
July- $75
August- $80
September- $75
October- $65
November- $100
December- $130
2012
January- $170
February -$125
March- $70
April-$45
Water/Sewer /Trash- $35-$40 monthly

I have never felt the need to water my lawn here.

BTES is Bristol TN Electric System. The have a BVU for the VA part of Bristol Appalachian power services most of KIngsport and JCPB services Johnson City Gray and Colonial Heights areas. They are all very comparable in price i dont know the exact kw per hr charge but the highest bill with AEP i ever had was a bill around $250 in a very cold winter with electric heat pump as my only heat source in 2100 sq ft house built 30 years ago. Hope this helps

In comparison, utility costs here are generally not bad. We had a dual system (heat pump and gas furnace) installed a few years back and the savings have been terrific. Depending on where you live, cable can be tricky. Comcast vs. Charter. I have found Charter to be higher generally - Also trash pick up in county is separate billing - In Johnson City for example - water, sewer and trash pick-up are all tgether and usually runs about $50.00 month. Each utility company can give you an appox. yearly cost for a home your size. As far a watering goes. I never water our lawn and we always seem to have adequate rainfall. The drier months are Late July, August and Sept.

Hi,
I live in Kingsport and am considering adding a natural gas furnace to my existing heat pump for a dual system.
My heat pump can't keep up in weather like we are having currently (Dec. 8, 2018).
Would you mind telling me what company you used to install your system, and on average what you spent a month
for natural gas in the winter.
