Does anyone have any info about Harper opening a Maserati dealership in Knoxville?

I would highly doubt they would consider opening one here.

I was informed by some people in the car industry about it. I also noticed that harpermaseratiofknoxville.com was recently created. No website yet, but the name has been secured.

Just curious if anyone else has some info on the potential dealership opening.

Is there enough of a market for it? I didn't notice all that many high end luxury or exotic cars when I lived there. Perhaps I wasn't looking in the right areas, or things have changed since then (2009).

There's a decent amount of BMW's, Lexus and Mercedes in Farragut but those cars aren't on the level of a Maserati. At least I don't consider them to be on the same level.

I checked maseraiti web site, and there is one in Nashville. Cheapest one they had advertised was $87,000. Many over 100 grand. In my humble opinion if they do get a dealer here, I am sure they will sell other brands also.

I've seen a Maserati, a Lamborghini and a couple of Ferraris coming and going to work. Knoxville isn't teeming with the well-heeled, compared to other cities - it's a small city, anyway - but they are here. Now whether there is enough to open a dealership, I'm not too sure about that.

Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar and Land Rover are all here. All of these brands have models north of the $100k mark. A few models are approaching the $200k range. Maserati is a bit more exclusive than the other brands mentioned, but I don't see why it couldn't make it in Knoxville.

You may of just stated why it won't make it. Knoxville is a small city market and it already has its hi end car dealers (the ones you mentioned). Can it take one more? Maybe if it combines with other brands, like some car dealers are doing now.
