I agree on 6 inches being a non event, ice is what we worry about here and even awd which helps isnt a reason to get out on ice if you do not have to. I was asking if higher elevations really got more snow or ice to make a difference. I gather they do not.

I drive NM mountains up near 10000 feet now in snow and see ice once or twice a year here. I lived in Pittsburgh which was cold but not a lot of snow and lived in Somerset County NJ where we got a few big snow falls from Nor'easterns. Thanks for your input
