Hello,

I'm really really sorry. I tried searching but either I was doing something wrong or the search feature isn't great on this site.. lol.. we are def coming to a decision on moving to Vegas (area) like we originally wanted to do. (yay!). However, I'm gonna write down the zip codes to aim for, or at least, avoid at all costs.

Looking to rent in an apartment complex in Summerlin or Henderson. Looking for safe and low crime.

I've come across these zip codes from searching..but I don't know where they are
89074, 89014, 89183, 89123, and 89102

Thank you thank you and thank you so much for any input. I just need 1 or 2 good replies and we can even close this thread. Our vacation is in 16 days (omg) and like to start lining up apartments to look at. Just need to know what zip codes to avoid, and possibly aim for =)

Again: Thanks so much!

Hard to go wrong with any place above 215 in Henderson 89074 is below 215 but pretty nice. And any property that is within the actual master-planned communities in summerlin. 89134, 89135, 89144.

Crime happens everywhere. Just follow the money and follow the green. Vegas is walls and gates everywhere the money is located.

That's pretty general. There are actually nice areas within the areas noted on the Crime Map above in Yellow. It's hard if you are not from a city to know what is good from bad. But ultimately it comes down to the people in the area and usually the higher the income the better the area.

We've been narrowing down our "apartments to look at" list and the two Summerlin areas that seem to come up the most are in zip codes: 89117 and 89147.

Any thoughts or suggestions on these areas? Thanks!

They are fine...though actually not in Summerlin. Nearby.

89117 is in or near the Lakes, a nice area convenient to lots of shopping. 89147 is Spring Valley, generally older, not as fancy but often a very good value for the money. It also is very convenient to shopping.

Stay Away from the Downtown, North and East LV.....It is seedy, although many try to make the best of it in certain neigborhoods....even though they are at times surrounded.

89117 and 89147 are both in Spring Valley, I live in the 89117 zip code but I also receive the View newspaper South Summerlin Edition. 89117 and 89147 are both in the boundary of Summerlin South. My sister resides in the 89147 Zip code older and newer homes in the area, a well kept and definitely convenient part of Vegas. 89147 boundaries are Rainbow Blvd., Tropicana, Spring Mountain and Hualapai.

That's why I wrote "in or near the Lakes." Thanks for the clarification.

To the OP, I lived in Spring Valley when I first moved to Las Vegas and loved it. It definitely warrants your consideration.
