Wow, 50? No way. It's been a long time since I lived in an apartment but I remember paying 120 a month for just power, in the summer. Also car insurance sucks here. We have two cars and pay about 110 a month just for car insurance.

I pay about 100 a month for power in the summer. My condo doesn't have gas.
California's weather is much more temperate than Las Vegas. The OP should prepare for higher a/c bills in summer and higher heating bills in winter if he does move here.

Definitely. When I lived in the Monterey area I remember the mist rolling in and cooling everything down to 65. It would be blazing hot with the humidity midday but we only ran our AC in the afternoon and had our windows open morning and night.

Ahh..my favorite place in the world. Carmel/Monterey. Of course a small one bedroom apartment was 1200 a month. And that was a long time ago!

2 cars at 660 a half.... if thats full coverage, thats cheap!
