Our office is having a Thanksgiving pot luck next Tuesday. I've been assigned to bring mashed potatoes. I don't cook. Is there some place in the Henderson area where I can get pre-cooked mashed potatoes to serve 25 people?

Try Marie Callender's, or even one of the grocery stores, as they may be putting together Thanksgiving menu pre-orders and have lots of mashed potatoes on hand for sale in their carry-out case.

Our company, in Henderson, just had a Thanksgiving lunch and every year we use a company called A Thyme For All Seasons. Their garlic mashed potatoes are awesome.

You might try Lucille's Smokehouse in The District too. They are doing complete Thanksgiving dinners to go.

But the best mashed potatoes I've ever found are from a company called Honest Earth. They are instant, easy, and delicious. All natural too, whatever that means, and anyone can make them. We get them from Costco, but I'm sure you can find them in other stores. They used to be out of Winnemucca, and I ordered them by phone, but they are an Idaho company now. Looking at the package, I'd think four or five pouches would be enough for 25 people as it says one is eight servings, and there are eight to a box. Of course what I consider a serving and what they do is two different things. They are good as is, but sometimes I dress them up by adding Parmesan cheese, or sour cream, or both.

I decided to go with Lucille's since they are located just across from my office. I was able to place the order on line. Very easy.

Thanks!

Well, now I hope it's good or you'll hate me.

We are going to have dinner with the girls, so there won't be any left overs. Sooooo, the XYL and I are trying to decide whether to order the whole Txgvg Day dinner from Lucille's, or maybe just the turkey, and maybe freeze part of it so we don't get overrun on turkey, etc.

Roasting or smoking a turkey reminds me of the first Thanksgiving with my first wife. We were pretty inexperienced and po', so we had roast turkey that day, followed by turkey sandwiches for a few days, followed by turkey salad, followed by turkey soup from the carcass. It went on for weeks ...at least it seems like it. I got so sick of turkey I thought I'd never eat it again.

BTW: The XYL reminded me we could probably get a turkey from Memphis BBQ, Buzz BBQ (no relation), or some other places closer to home.
