I lived in Las Vegas and Henderson for a couple of years and always thought the people for the most part were nice but it was hard to make good friends b/c everyone always had some screwed up work schedule. The thing that I really did like about it though was that since almost everyone is from somewhere else everyone kind of has to keep their crazy hometown pride to themselves and open up to people who are different than them. I miss living there but don't miss most of the crazy work shifts I had when I was there. For sure a friendly place to live.

No. I came from a small town 60 miles south of Chicago.

I don't think we're unfriendly exactly, just more aggressive.

But I'm from a small town in West (By God!) Virginia, where people sit on the porch and strike up conversations with strangers walking by.

One time I was back for a reunion and a little excited to be there again. I took a short cut down a back highway, and forgot that even rental cars need gas. As Carol and I were walking (in the wrong direction) to find a gas station, a guy stopped and asked me if at car back air belonged to me. Said he figured somebody ran outta gas. He had his family in the car, so there was no room for us, but he said to go back to the car and he swore he'd be back with gas in about five minutes. He was. And he wouldn't take any money for it either. I don't see that happening here too much.

Since we lived in southern Utah before moving here, I would have to say that the people in Utah were friendlier than here. Although i am one of those that strike up conversations with strangers all the time, some respond favorably and some others totally ignore me. So some are friendly here and some are not.

I haven't been to mass since I was a little kid...and back then, it was in Latin!

(seriously, I'm in MA all the time. only live about 45 mins from the border. Pittstown, Lee (outlets), Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Tanglewood area.)
