If I had family coming to visit, I would never take them WALKING down LV Blvd.

It's an embarrassment -- between the porn slappers and the hooker magazines and the crushing crowds of fatsos wearing inappropriate duds.

Drive them down LV Blvd instead, and let them look at the lights. Then pull in for Bellagio valet parking and watch the fountain show -- how is it the Bellagio is allowed to run off their porn slappers, but none of the other properties can?

That's pretty much what we do with guests too. We'll take them to Caesars Forum too, and maybe eat at the Cheesecake Factory which most of our out of town guests seem to think is a fancy restaurant.

Some sidewalks were built on hotel property so the hotel can control who they allow to be there. Even that right has been questioned by the ACLU.

I have a friend who live in Blaine,WA and he rarely goes to Vancouver anymore (its only a 20 min drive from his house), he's tired of all the rude people that live there, reminds him of Chicago or Atlanta.

My parents also came back from vacation up to the BC, first time they had been there since 88. While they enjoyed Vancouver in the 80s, they said the town has grown so much (as with most areas) but the trash and the filth and the lack of service their was absolutely amazing. Said they would never come back, they would spend more time in Calgary.

Yes, Vancouver is dirty compared to Las Vegas, I have walked some of the neighborhoods there and it is not clean at all. Many people don't like HOAs in Vegas but community associations keep neighborhoods in order and Vegas is definitely cleaner and in order compared to Vancouver.

Food, in my nearly a week of dining in Vancouver, I had more lousy food than good food. I don't dine in 5 star restaurants or celebrity owned restaurants in Vegas, I regularly dine in chain restaurants and our food in Vegas is better compared to the ones in Vancouver. I tried to compare food that I would normally order in Vegas to what I got in Vancouver, Vegas won in this regard.

People love to hate on chain restaurants and talk about independently owned mom and pop establishments as something better BUT I differ on this. Mom and pop establishments are a hit and miss but more on the miss whereas chain restaurants offer food that has been tried and tested even before it becomes part of the menu. I'd go for consistent good or better food over those mom and pop establishments.

As far as shopping, Vancouver cannot even come close to what is on offer in Vegas.

There are three things I like about Vancouver, they have excellent parks and public art pieces. Vancouver also has great public transportation. In Vancouver you can get a glimpse of an art piece easily. They have beautiful gardens and Stanley Park is great.

Overall you can see in many cities in California whatever is on offer in Vancouver. San Francisco, Santa Monica, Long Beach and Orange County beach cities are comparable if not better.

So, Applebee's (or something similar) in Las Vegas is better than Applebee's in Vancouver?

Oh boy.
