I see Mayor Goodman(sorry the former mayor) around town all the time.I've run into Seigfried at the airport once and I see Flavor Flav all the time there.I once got the late Tony Curtis a drink when I worked at Ruths Chris years ago.Probably the funniest didn't involve me but my mom.She was in line at Albertsons I believe, she was with my cousin( her niece)when she was only 4 and she was a typical little girl running around touching things. My mom says to hear hey honey stay here I'd hate to lose you. From behind a mans voice says "well if so we will take you home and you can live with us!"My mom turns around it's Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf

I sometimes catch my reflection in a mirror as I walk along the Strip.

Lewis Black keeps coming around to my house, wanting to borrow bitter coffee and salt.

Over what period of time? In the "olden days" as my kid calls it, we rubbed elbows with just about anyone who was anybody. Now the town is so big, seeing celebs, politicians, and BMOC's, is less frequent. But being the entertainment capital of the world, and given that these people have ordinary lives too, you gotta see a star now and then in Las Vegas. Same thing in Hollywood/LA. I always see one or two when we go to LA.

One of favorite memories was having a buddy from West Virginia visit one time on his way to Vietnam. He was here for one night and wanted to see Sinatra. I told him it was way too late to get reservations for his show, but if he wanted to see him I'd arrange it. I took him to the Sands just before Sinatra's show ended and told him to be patient. In a few minutes the show ended and a few minutes after that Sinatra and his whole entourage came through the casino and went into the coffee shop where I knew he always had a hamburger. In the group were a couple of young entertainers named Nancy Sinatra and Bobby Darren who were standing around the casino talking to people. My friend was impressed and I got a kick out of telling him that was just the way it is in Las Vegas.

We seem to cross paths with Penn from time to time. I guess we like to eat at the same places.

Good story.Yeah Las Vegas is defiantly not the same as it was back in the day.I remember working at the old Albertsons on Sahara and Valley View(long since changed to Food for Less) and seeing Pat Morita,BB King, Colin Cowherd when he was just the news 3 sports guy,Radick Bonk(I miss the Thunder too) all come in to shop.My grandfather has tons of stories about his encounters with old time mobsters when he worked at a gas station on the Strip as well as tycoons like Howard Hughes.

My sister-in-law was hit on by Carrot Top at a gym in Summerlin. She changed equipment to get away and he'd follow her around trying to talk to her, LOL! She said his eyebrows creeped her out.............among other things.
