Are the casino's in Primm or the one in Jean out of the question? They are not that far down 15. They have lots of openings on their websites.

They also have free busing to work and they pay slightly better than Las Vegas casinos. I was thinking of going that route. I can always read a book on the bus.

But at the end of the day, it's another three hours (or more) per day that you have no control over. The pay for me doesn't justify the extra 15 hours or time per week.

I started out at Primm 9 years ago. I never road the bus. The drive for me was never over an hour one way. I also carpooled with a coworker. We also worked 4 tens rather than a 5 day week. Nice thing too that way you got 2 trips to the EDR per day.

Although I didn't do this job specifically I worked with folks doing it and it's all smoke and mirrors. I would strongly suggest anyone avoid this position.

I've seen this posting on craigslist and it piqued my curiousity. Can you please elaborate? Thanks.

The bus isn't free. The casino employees get a discount that makes it about $6 per day, the rest of the mall workers can buy for about $8 per day. Most of us make a deal with one of the casino people to buy tickets. The bus picks you up and drops you off at the MGM so you have to park there every day or catch another bus.

The unpaid commute time is huge to work there. Nieman Marcus pays an extra $30 per week for gas. But still once you add in the time and extra costs, you don't make much. If you really want to work in Primm, get a casino job and live in the subsidized apartments there. Then you could easily pick up a part time job at the mall too. You wouldn't even need a car. That would be a cheap way to actually save some money.
