I'll take the long way to St George before I pay a toll to Arizona. A-holes.

It is simple. Don't go to or through Arizona. This is the Las Vegas forum, so why post this as Arizona is 30 miles+ away? Isn't St George in Utah over 100 miles away? Just being honest.....

What I was getting at that this belongs in either the Nevada or Arizona forum, not here. I used to live in Des Moines, Iowa back in 1995, and had to make the drive to Vegas so I know about the small part of Arizona that you have to pass to get here.

This sucks. This would add 2 hours for any Nevada Resident driving to Utah. 4 hours to get to St.George or 8+ to get to SLC if you don't go through AZ, versus 2 to St.George or 6 to SLC if you do. Of course we would pay the $3 toll, the gas alone would set you back much more than $3.

To their point though, they need to revamp 8 bridges and Arizona residents don't really drive that corner of Arizona, so it doesn't really seem fair to make them pay to maintain it. Plus they are proposing that the $3 and $6 (for truckers) fee would go directly to maintaining that portion of I-15.

It does suck! I agree, it is terrible. It's an okay idea taking another route. Could be taking a little quicker then the toll times!

I think they will have a problem...IBELIEVE that Interstate Highways are by law designated as NON TOLL ROADS....exceptions would be in the case of I70 where the Interstate was BUILT using an existing TOLL road [The Pennsylvania Turnpike].....I personally believe they are dreaming

after haveing read the article....I change my mind...let them do it....and we throw up a toll booth on the entry lanes to Clark county...try gettin across Nevada without usin 93/95/I-15

I propose $3 from California [since they will lose all their money anyway] and $100 from AZ since they don't spend enough when they're here.

[mod cut-- rude, personal] Most of the people using that route are Las Vegans. It's really no different to most of us than going to Boulder City for the day. So that's why I think it is a Las Vegas issue. Notice the idea was slammed by the LAS VEGAS Road Warrior column in the LAS VEGAS Review Journal, by a writer who grew up here.

If you don't want to read it, don't click on it.

[mod cut-- response to deleted material] I have now lived in Las Vegas for 5 and 1/2 years, and have only gone to Arizona once back in 2008. This is a non issue for Las Vegas residents.
