Are there any safe areas to live with condos/townhomes priced at 50k or less? I can probably go up to 80K if I had to but prefer to stay around 50K

I am looking for a 2-3 bedroom fairly close to the Las Vegas strip.

I just did a quick search for condos on ziprealty.com in the downtown and Paradise areas and had 140 listings come up. I would suggest you do the same. Note - it doesn't breakout the strip area. Keep in mind that it is very hard to find financing on condos - most are cash sales. If you're really serious, call a Realtor who can answer your questions about safety. Good luck.

I refer to the area east of Eastern, bordered by Sahara & Tropicana, to be the "Townhouse District", lots of older well-maintained, well-managed townhouse complexes, which is where I live, lots of units in that price range.

Lots of conveniences, a straight shot to the Strip, 2-3 miles, good bus routes.

Not impossible. Though a little light for 2/3 BR. The LVCC has a few. Lousey old apartment complex converted but a very good site. Safe and pretty nice. The Rock Springs developments around Buffalo and Washington get to that price range. Older conventional condos. Walkable neigborhood. Twenty minutes to the strip. South strip has low end units in Sedona...about 80- to 100K for 2/3. Some of the condos around Trop and Decatur and Jones. Neighborhood a little risky but ten minutes to the strip.

I have a 3br/2bath House 'Near the strip' in a good neighborhood (89103) with a pool.

Paid $135 and that was a "awesome" deal, I see no pool props for 80-90K - But 50k???

No Way José

There are a dozen condos for sale in 89128 for less than 50K. Four are 2/2s. And some of them are actually reasonably nice. The neighborhood is also reasonable and far more walkable than most...five minutes to the Buffalo commercial area.

Ok, maybe I don't understand something.
you BUY the condo for $50K, then Pay $500-1000 a month to live there?
