We are considering buying a home in this area of Royal Creek....and not being able to view the property until next month...wonder if anyone can give some insight as to the neighbourhood, amenities & the like. Did check out spotcrime & it doesn't appear there is alot of crime in this area. Thanks!

Reasonable NLV neighborhood. Be careful about the schools. The high school is a difficult one.

Is that zoned for Mojave or Canyon Ridge? Either one is a bad option. We have some decent elementary schools out here like Simmons, but our high schools are the suck.

Because my legal address at the time was my parent's house, my oldest brat went to Shadow Ridge which wasn't a bad school. I always recommend the magnet schools though. My youngest went to Northwest Tech and loved it.

Mojave -

I continue to expect Canyon Ridge to turn around. It should be better than it is. Mojave is just too tough.

It's a mystery to me why Mojave is so bad. It's located in a semi-rural area and the neighborhoods surrounding it once were selling for big bucks. The area just doesn't have "crime here" written all over it, but the delinquents at Mojave sure brought their game.

Canyon Ridge is a weird location. That's a semi-industrial area over there.

I wish both schools the best of luck.

Our children are no longer school age so schools are not a concern unless there are a lot of gangs in the schools which would make the neighbourhood unsafe. I've read some ratings on the schools that were mentioned & it appears that with new administration they are getting better. But what I would really like to know is: Is it a clean neighbourhood, a safe area to walk in, are there grocery stores, pharmacies in the area, does it have a balanced demographic as to ages, incomes, ethnic diversity. Thanks for any insight or advice....

Here is a database by zipcode. Doesn't have everything you are looking for but has quite a bit of info.

Here is a google map of the area which has been slightly expanded to show nearby businesses. I used to take Lone Mountain to work every day, but I can't offer much info about your specific location because it's east of where I drove. I can tell you that I don't consider anything on Lone Mountain to be dangerous and that area is probably predominately white with some other races mixed in.

That's in the El Dorado community. You have a nice park nearby, Seastrand Park. A lot of happenings there and you could walk to their 3rd of July celebration they have every year. Walking to the closest stores you will have to cross a busy street or two. It's not just down the street though. Better to drive. And if you drive, it's about 5 minutes max to get to the Smiths, CVS drugstore, banks, dentist, hair salons, pet grooming, restaurants, car care, etc. Or you can go northwest an additional 5 minutes and shop in Aliante and surrounding area's for Winco, Costco, Fresh and Easy, Super Walmart, Best buy, etc.
All ages, diverse. Heavy Mormon population according to people that live there.

Not in El Dorado but close. Actually closer to commerce than El Dorado which is located on Al Camino Norte or Craig Road.

It is actually walkable though it will be a bit much in the heat.
