No more warnings.
NHP wrote more than 1,700 traffic tickets between St. Rose Parkway and Primm in the month of January. Chances of getting a warning are slim.

In my opinion, this one really isn't about money. There are just too many troopers across the country getting hurt or killed on the side of the road by passing motorists. I have a friend who is a trooper in another state and he's always afraid of getting hit or his patrol car getting sideswiped or rear ended.

yes... this is a true safety issue. I am all for this law and it's enforcement because I pay attention and ALWAYS move over for roadside issues. It's best the rest of you idiot drivers that don't pay attention or do this, learn.

This is the first I've heard of this law. I mean, I've always done it out of common sense, it's jut weird that there has to be a law in the first place, 1700 tickets in January? I'm losing my faith in humanity.

Exactly my point. It was a sting to make a bunch of money since the state is in trouble. They always take something like this that seems reasonable and then rape the people. By the way, 1700 tickets at $395 is $671,500 dollars. The slaves gotta pay for their bloated salary.....

I think they are just trying to prevent this from happening.

But all one has to do to avoid the ticket is MOVE OVER. This IS a safety issue. If the fine has to be high to get people to use common sense, I don't have a problem with it. The publicity of the number of tickets at that price should sharply reduce the number of violations, if anyone out there has any common sense left. Nevada is NOT the only place with high fines for certain types of traffic offenses that are VERY easy to avoid.

I was going from LA to Vegas one time and seen a patrol car with lights on trying to get through traffic.

I was shocked to see people staying in the left lane with a cop car behind them with lights on.

Yes, the LA - Vegas route is stupid with only 2 lanes each way ( till you reach the Nevada state line ) but wow...... people don't care.

We have a 35mph speed limit in Canada passing police and tow trucks tending to people. then people almost get rear ended as they slow to 35 and idiots stay at 70mph.

Hard to control stupidity in this country/world..... innocent people will be hurt and die... sucks.

Yes, but I guarantee this was a sting to bring in revenue. There is NO WAY that out of the blue 1,700 people were ticketed for this all of the sudden within 1 month. Back in the early 2000's in Phoenix, I was driving down central avenue and Indian School or Thomas (it has been years), and I came upon a marked crosswalk not in an intersection. The person was already on the other side of the road so I preceded. I will never forget this as I then get pulled over. I was in the third lane, while someone was stopped in the first lane. I got a ticket that was around $125 (that is now cheap compared to now!) or so for passing a stopped car that was stopped for a pedestrian. I told the cop that the person should not have even been stopped anymore as the person has crossed my half of the intersection, but he said it does not matter, and that even know he was wrong, I was still in violation for passing him. Are you kidding me??? You have to remember I have a friend in law enforcement in El Mirage, and he told me at different times that the "state needs money", so that they will pull dirty tricks. In other words, be careful. He told me that most likely they had either police officers or state employees do this (stop in the crosswalk way past when the pedestrian passed). I wouldn't doubt the pedestrian was also a police officer. They do that here quite frequently to gain revenue....
