Bring out your dead. Bring out your dead. Yea I'm resurrecting this thread. I finally stopped by Five Guys to try their burger. $13 later I was stuffed. Double cheese, fries and drink.

Nice juicy burger, bunch of fries and one refill on lemonade. I was full. Good meal but In-N-Out gets my nod on price and taste when ordered animal style. I'm not a fan of In-N-Out fries.

As for price it may be cheaper if I ordered a little burger at Five Guys. Thing is the Animal style is good.

The last two times we ate at Five Guys the burgers were crap. Major disappointment. We found In and Out to be Mediocre at best.

The blue burger at BJ'S across from Red Rock is excellent.

As is the Bobby Bleu Burger at Bobby Flay's place.. My wife always gets the Crunch burger, I stick with the bleu.

What are people's thoughts on Freddy's Steakburgers? There may be others around but the one we tried is on Eastern/Silverado in the Target Shopping Center. It was recently ranked highly by Consumer Reports so we gave it a shot. I was underwhelmed and my wife got sick. We decided we would stick to Steak & Shake when we are in the mood for a steakburger.

I've tried Freddy's in a number of places, here, San Antonio and Victorville. While I like their burger, I think Steak & Shake does a better job with essentially the same burger style. BUT, I really like the frozen custard at Freddy's and will put up with the slightly less inviting burger than to go to Steak & Shake and lose out on the custard. Next time at Freddy's try their green chili burger.

That article is old, before Bobby's Burger Palace (Bobby Flay) opened next to the Monte Carlo. I tried it in April, and it was well worth the $19 for a burger, fries and soft drink. I'll have to remember some of these other places when I go next time and give a couple more a try. With the great choices for burgers there, I wonder how In-and-Out can stay in business.

Hash House A Go Go, BBP, and Burger Brasserie are my 3 tops in town. I'll take 5 Guys over In-n-Out if given the option.
