Kind of an "out there" question, I know, but I couldn't find any definitive answers. I wouldn't be doing anything lewd or obscene - just swimming and tanning naked. I've gotten a LOT darker since moving here in early summer (in every place that isn't covered by swimming trunks). I just want to get a full body tan, and since I'm in Vegas, I'd rather do it in the beautiful sun than in some tanning place.

The backyard is lined with a 6'+ wall, and none of our neighbors have a two-story home. Basically, the only way any neighbor could see me is if they were actively trying to peep over the wall, so it's not as though I'd be parading publicly in the ol' birthday suit.

Am I within my legal rights to do this here, or am I risking a visit from the cops?

Skinny dipping is a well established Las Vegas tradition.

Having a nice looking neighbor who skinny dips can increase the value of the house next door. I kid you not.

I don't think they could get the cops to handle the call unless a lot more was involved than mere nakedness.

1) Are you male or female?

2) Are you hot?

3) Can you hang out outside during the next google earth satellite flyover?

Actually, this falls under the "mans home is his castle" tenet from common law. Yes, you can sunbathe and swim nude, so long as no person can see you without unreasonably invading YOUR privacy. (Peeping toms, and such.)

1. Male (sorry!)

2. Average, I suppose, but I don't think that matters based on my last answer lol

3. Google has probably already caught me. They see everything.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I just didn't want to risk any trouble; glad this town is lax about it!

Just make sure your HOA doesn't have a clause about trimming your pubic hair to their liking. You won't know how they noticed but you'll still get a fine in the mail.

While we're on the topic, is it legal for me to strip naked in my front yard, with my pet parrot Lucky perched upon me <ahem> and sing a duet with him of Islands In The Stream while the lawn sprinklers spray us with water? I'm the alto and Lucky is the baritone in case you were wondering. I asked my lawyer and he said "as long as you don't sing Viva Las Vegas, you should be okay" but I thought I'd ask it here since this is such a great place to get legal advice about very personal activities.

That depends on what kind of parrot. A macaw? Probably OK.

A cockatoo? Nope, you're going straight to jail.

Given that the OP is a guy...the cops might take the call more serious. Double-standard, I know.
