Anyone could join a really nice health club, with a pool, for a long time for what the build and the maintenance costs them. Haven't had a pool in many years, don't miss it.

Right, weight bearing type exercises would be better for the bones, building muscle faster, even brisk walking for the leg bones is good.

Given the OP says they are of retirement age, often people in that age group benefit from exercise that's easier on the joints and other parts of the body and swimming fits that bill very nicely.

And get a third bid from Allure pools and spa, they did some small work for me and I'm very pleased

And get a 4th bid from Watters aqua tech. My pool was built by them 28 odd years ago and they're still in business.

And get a 5th bid from the build your own pool lot.

No such thing as too many bids in Vegas!

I would also recommend to use Pentair equipment vs Jandy (Pentair is just a superior product for longevity and future repairs) Jandy parts are expensive since they do not make any aftermarket parts.

I would suggest going LED lights instead of the older halogens. The upgrade shouldn't be too much more and you will be happy with the way it looks.

I would suggest getting a different pool cleaner than the Hayward Navigator. Actually Hayward makes a cleaner that is probably the best on the market right now.

Hayward Poolvergnuegen Pool Cleaner - 2-Wheel - Limited Edition, or the Hayward Aquanaut 2 wheel -- Both are pretty much the same cleaner.

Wow, I didn't even know Hayward acquired the company that builds "The Pool Cleaner". I've had one of them for several years, based on recommendation over on TroubleFreePool.com. I have far fewer problems with leaves getting stuck since switching from a Hayward Navigator (though to be fair, I got rid of the problem tree).

Pool Tips, Troubleshooting & Reviews: Hayward AquaNaut, Phoenix and Poolvergnuegen PoolCleaner Suction Side Cleaners

Article says Hayward designed a new body but used all the same internal components of "The Pool Cleaner" to make a Hayward-branded model that could be included in rebate programs.

Kreepy Krauley Rebel and Pentair Warrior look like knock-offs of "The Pool Cleaner".

This design is the best i've seen and it also comes in a 4 wheel model that works well on larger pools with a deep end. I haven't seen the "knock offs" in action yet but i'm sure I will in the future.
