There's no way I'd rent a car for a day to save $10 on a bottle of booze.

It makes more sense when you factor in not having to pay for a taxi from the airport and not having to pay strip convenience store prices or paying for a cab to take you off strip to pay normal prices.

You must be talking about carry on suitcase...because in checked suitcases, it's allowed.

There is a liquor store at the airport in baggage claim. Buy your vodka there and dont waste your time running all over the place. Jeeze use a little common sense man! You're staying at the Venetian after all arent you?

I meant checked. I know it's allowed. I meant risk it in terms of it breaking.

I asked for cheap. The same place that charges me $3 for a small bottle of Coke is not likely the place I'm going to find cheap booze.

The cab fare plus booze savings MIGHT even out, but honestly, it's really closer to six of one, half dozen of the other. It would make much more sense to learn the bus routes than rent a car.

I did my research enough to find out that there was a WalMart right by the airport, and a Lee's right by my hotel. I wanted to know which was cheaper. General consensus says Lee's. I'll probably go that route.

I've carried bottles of liquor in my checked bag and have never had one break on me. The safest thing to do is wrap in in bubble wrap and put it in a large ziplock bag, double bag it if possible. I have also just wrapped it in some clothes and it's been OK. Just make sure to weigh your bag because the bottle could easily add several pounds and put you over the limit.

Possibly but don't forget to factor in having to carry everything back, which may not be easy on a bus.

If you are planning on going to Walmart then you are better off just making one stop, depending on which location you are going to there may be other stores nearby where you could go if Walmart doesn't carry what you want. Also keep in mind that although there is a Lee's near your hotel, it is possible that their prices at that location are "strip" prices so your best bet might be to call the location near your hotel to see if they will give you the price of a bottle you know you want to buy and compare that to another location.

Southpoint Hotel and Casino Liquor store beats Lee's Liquor store prices. Locals and tourists go there to purchase alcohol. It's way pass the outlet mall on the Southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard.
