There is a liquor store in the airport now. Its right in baggage claim - take a right when you come down the escalator to baggage claim from terminal B/C. Prices seemed to be ok/normal. One day they had tasting samples!

One of my peeves about Lees is that so many of their items ring up at a higher price than marked on the floor. And you can't see the prices as they are rung up. I think they do it on purpose.

So Costco for the staples, Total Wine for etc and I stock up at BevMo when I go to People Republic O'California. I'll buy stuff at TJs too, especially their annual holiday beer.

I agree. And that's why I don't shop there. I hate bait and switch.

I think they have a "cash price" like gas stations do. That's a clear violation of their agreements with the credit card companies, but a lot of little places get away with it.

I am amazed that she is staying at the Venetian and trying to find cheap alcohol.. If you can afford to stay at the Venetian IMO then you can afford to just buy your booze wherever....

Total Wine has lower prices and has never pulled the "so sorry, there must be a computer glich" routine. (The "glitch" is never, never, never in the customer's favor and happens far too often to be a glitch. Whole Foods was recently nailed doing the same thing.)

Basically, they're counting on their customers being so dumb as to forget the price in the time it takes to get from the shelf to the register. (Or, in Whole Foods case to be so dumb that they cannot multiply weight times price and even be close. And this happened for YEARS before Whole Foods was finally caught.)

There is a difference between not being able to afford something and not wanting to pay extra for something because it is convenient. Most people don't use a mini bar for the same reason, yes I can afford to pay $4 for a candy bar but I would rather go to grocery store and pay $4 for a 6 pack.

I'd skimp on food and drink instead. Takes less booze, it's cheaper all around LOL

Good prices or you can buy a $1300 bottle of champagne. There's something for everyone!
