89149 went up a little from november to december. I would describe it as basically flat.

The predictive models don't work very well. They have way too much noise.

I recently closed on a purchase and received a form from the Homestead Declaration Bureau, Inc. They are requesting $25 and completion of the form which states that "if for any reason a judgement is recorded against you, your home and the equity in your home" is protected.
Is this a scam?

But that's just me.

If I had an extra $850 a month, I'd buy another house and rent it out.

Not only that, but $125 for key fob and another $125 for gate transponder. I would hope they're at least gold plated. I'm sure there are more fees lurking.

The gate remote for the condo I just bought down there was $35.

Quote from the latest Case Shiller Index from today:

"Prices were lower in November than they were a year earlier in 16 of the 20 cities. Small year-over-year price increases were found in Dallas, San Francisco, Denver and San Diego. The largest year-over-year decline was seen in Las Vegas, where prices are down 24.5% in the past year. "

Seems like Vegas is suffering the worst in the country.

Wow interesting to read comments from only a year ago compared to today. This spring with the Fed Raises rates and the tax credits expire, job losses are up then what? I can't see how property is going to appreciate at all.

Gee, Let me guess, Some one will answer this report with some kind of statement like: Although prices are down sales volume is up showing the bottom has been here for some time. Or maybe: REO's are selling above
asking price with multiple offers showing we have been at a bottom for a long time. OH PLEEEEEAASE!!!!

Please, realize Vegas has some real "Real Estate" issues in much of the area and continues to do so. Do not believe any hype from industry folks about the rebound as we have other areas of the country which really have more up side than Vegas both in Re-Sales and Rent ability. Nevada is doing a great job of trying to advertise for businesses to move to the area but so far it has not taken hold. Perhaps sometime in the future it will. I hope so but would not bet my Real Estate Investment dollars on it.

Now, are there some good deals out there if your timing is right. Yes, but it is a very rare occurrence unless you are an owner occupier in the lower to lower/mid range market. Then it is not just an monetary investment but an investment in life style as well. Owning your own home has some value in itself but do not assume it is your new bank account with a high interest rate of return. It is not.

Good luck to all but for me my monies are being invested, as I have continued saying in the past, in other areas of the country and I am seeing very large returns on my investment dollars. Believe it or not.
