The Bootleggers vibe is old-school, of course, but I find the food at best to be middle-of-the-road. Meh. Nothing special.

Another alternative is Piero's -- old school Rat Pack vibe, and I like the Osso Bucco.

I like the tasting menu at B&B

Also check out Rao's

Another vote for Bootleggers. I found the food pretty good northern Italian. Mother of my children was good Italian cook and this is very much in the style of her family.

Yeah, and McDonald's serves ketchup, so there's always alternatives.

As important if not more are the dishes to order

I would check Yelp reviews on what dish you are after specifically, then figure out which place does it best

It is surprising no one has mentioned the legendary Las Vegas Italian Restaurant, Battistas, Hole in The Wall!
The fare is good as any; prices more reasonable than most and usually a line to get in! Decidedly Old Vegas
chic, but classy , in a traditional way.

Worst meal I ever ate was at Battistas. Read about any recommendation on yelp. The ones written on this place are comical. I'm not surprised no one has recommended it.
Funny thing is for what you get there, its not cheap! Oh yeah the wine is swill. The food is horrible. no butter, margarine. They try to pass off hot chocolate for espresso at the end of the meal. Worst tourist trap in town.

Best in town is Il Mulino, but bring your big wallet. Piero's - excellent but it isn't reasonable like it used to be either. Rao's, depends on whose cooking.

Buddy V's is very good. Most reasonable out of any I recommend. It is run locally, owns 2 other restaurants. Honey Salt and Andiron, both off strip. He leases his name, smart idea. Reasonable too. We were shocked.
I have had better desserts at this place than his bakery across the hall! I thought they were coming from his bakery and asked.
Was told that you order a cannolli at Buddy V's it is made fresh for you. Not sitting around in a display case.

B&B -very good. Pricier than Buddy V's.

Fiamma at MGM Grand - excellent. We take clients there, after one visit, its where they want to go. Mid priced compared to Il Mulino

Giada's was good in the beginning, then she raised prices and cut serving sizes and quality. Typical of what many do. Haven't been there in over a year now.

Too many great places to eat here.

Thanks for the recommendations. They're on my list for Restaurant Week.

We went to Giada's in August last year; it was great.

Looking forward to Vegas Uncork'd Grand Tasting later this week.

I ate at Battistas once and thought it was fine, but Italian is my least favorite type of food, so none of it is great to me. It was with a large group and it was more for the experience than the actual food. The free wine was a bonus.

Very enjoyable and pretty good eats. And usually live music too.

We also like Fellini's in the Stratosphere. They never disappoint in flavor.

You have Casa di Amore if you want pretty good food, pretty good atmosphere, but they do send a limo to the strip and provide complementary round trip service.

And then informally and if you have a decent size group Carmines in the forum shops is always a choice.
