So, what's your story NJ Brazen? Are you actually looking to move to Las Vegas? Looking to invest? Just bored? You seem to have a lot of questions lately and are necro'ing a lot of very old threads.
I want to move out here and invest because I am bored where I am at.

There's really only 1 decent neighborhood in Vegas (the ridges summerlin) and the upcoming discovery land project (summit club) if you're not living in there you are a low/modest wage earner in a less than desirable area.

Quite irrational. There are a number of tracts of homes in the same class as the Ridges. Tournament Hills or Anthem Country Club for example. There are also various places where there are estates that easily surpass the Ridges and such. And then there are a large number of tracts in the $750,000 to $2,000,000 class that certainly are not roughing it. And there are whole neighborhoods in the $500,000 to $2,000,000 range like Lone Mountain who are a long way from low/modest.

Well the OP need to rephrase and find out where is the pretentious and even more pretentious neighborhoods in Clark County, NV. Summerlin will surely be on top of that list, same with all the master-planned communities in metropolitan Las Vegas. Hahahaha! I highly doubt that OP would want to live in the Ridges or Tournament Hills, this is the last place those type of people will go to, if they want to figure out real estate in the area.

I started a thread asking whether or not the Hwy's serve as good boundaries and markers to distinguish poor, middle, and rich areas, but apparently its not a good indicator.

I need something to go with.

Simplest thing is to use 215. Outside or inside within a mile or so. Not perfect but pretty good. For rich from middle income use the tract housing prices. Figure rich above 1.5 million. Upper middle from 500K to 1.5 million.
