I signed up to their $65/m gigabit service about a week ago. The promo ends on January 16 if I'm not mistaken. You get a free wifi modem and free installation.

Here is the link to check if your area can get gigabit:
https://shop.centurylink.com/MasterW...=#module=start

I tried the link on four of my friend's addresses and none of them qualified, so you have to be lucky I suppose.

Wired to the modem, I get close to 1-gig up and down. Wireless I get about 300 down and 500 up, not sure if that's a limitation of my cell phone or if I have to play with some settings. I don't really care because it's plenty fast anyway. My ping times were also reduced from about 10ms to 5ms.

If you do get it, just know that they will need to use a phone jack inside your house and if they are not up to spec (i.e. cat5), they will ask if they can drill a hole on the side of your house (at the location of where you will keep the wireless modem) and run some new cabling.

You're lucky. They don't have that package available on our end of town. 1.5 mps is all that they have here. 4G on my phone is faster than that.

We're still on the Cox introductory offer of $59/mo for 100 mps, and it's been fine so far. I don't know that there's anything better for our area (far south Henderson) right now.

I had CL for quite a while till it started failing multiple times a day. After 8 technician visits they couldn't fix it. And the speed was miserably slow even at it's best. I gave up and went to Cox and that means I have to play the pricing game now and then but they seem to be my only choice. I wish you luck with them!

When your promo offer is up, call them and say you want to disconnect, they will offer you a discount. They should match any competitor's offer.

I love Century Link and had no problems with the service. I recommend it over the other if available in your area. No need for cable/internet from the other lousy company. Love my $30 digital antenna, Roku TV and my Netflix/Hulu.

I have Netflix, Amazon Prime and Philo TV

I like Philo because it's cheap and has live channels, DVR cloud, and on demand content. The channels aren't as extensive as other streaming offerings, but plenty good for me (mainly watch HGTV and Game Show Network).

They offer a free trial, no payment information needed initially. If interested, my link is:

Get your own stand alone modem and a Google Wi-Fi router. Do a speed test.

Your welcome.

I know a lot of people have bad things to say about Centurylink's internet but I signed up for the $45.00 a month for life program and I am very happy. I live by myself and I'm not a gamer. I only stream Hulu, Netflix and Sling TV and never had a buffering problem. Got tired of Cox raising prices a few dollars every few months. Centurylink works for me.

CenturyLink's customer service is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. The actual service is OK... Just OK.

I'm recently back on Cox since they've lowered prices in my area.
