I agree. It needs to have a LA to Victorville connection otherwise
it's like a train that starts in nowhere.

Once this initial step is taken, then it's a no-brainer that it will eventually connect to downtown L.A., or some Metro Rail stop.

I'm the laziest traveler in the world, I'll do Anything to avoid putting my hands on a steering wheel. If it takes longer, I always take a good book along with me to pass the time.

The car-centric crowd, on the other hand, will Only travel unless their hands are on a steering wheel.

I agree it will eventually connect to LA. The problem is So Cal is probably the most car-centric place in our country if not the world and Vegas is right there with it. Trying to get such car-centric people to change their behavior won't be easy. If I live in LA that means I have to Uber to the main bus or train station in downtown, then take a bus or multiple other trains to get to Victorville, then switch to the bullet train for the last leg, and then cab/Uber to my hotel. That just sounds like a pain in the neck to me. I'd rather jump in my car and drive 5 hours (not Friday afternoon or return Sunday afternoon).

They've got light rail/subway/Metro Rail all over L.A. today, the Gold line is no being extended eastward from Azusa. Anytime I go to L.A., I rail it everywhere. A car would only be a nuisance!

I do not see people who live in Las Vegas using this train to go to Victorville. Could work for the tourists from LA coming to LV of which there are many.
I wonder how many cars will be stolen, broken into at these parking lots. I would not leave it there for days.

All over LA isn't like the way public systems work in other major cities. The rail is not anywhere near the suburbs I visit in LA so I will not be taking the rail anywhere near Victorville. Now if they got a train like the Chunnel from London to Paris where we can take our cars with us, that would be a game changer.

Cars get left in parking lots for days or weeks at airports and other train stations - why would this be any different?

If this train is ever built,i'm pretty sure it will eventually connect to the Greater L.A Region since their are many people who don't like flying or don't wanna drive to Vegas.

In doing more research, they've already announced they plan on taking it from Victorville to Rancho Cucamonga and Palmdale. The significance of Victorville is just it's central location to be a pivot point to various areas and into Vegas. Here is an article from back in July:

I lived in Victorville from 96 to 2018. There is nothing there worth stopping for (IMHO). I cannot see driving from LA to VV just to catch the bullet train to LV because I would not want to leave my vehicle in Victorville. Now I am sure they will have created secured parking however non the less, it is Victimville.
