The sun comes up so early here...so I'm up earlier than usual {6:30 to 7 has turned into 5:18am}

So, that means I tire earlier in the day. I usually am home and ready for a quiet evening by 8...that has turned into 5:30.

Don't drink/smoke/gamble/party/eat alot....

What to do?
Anyone know of anything to do in Vegas in the mornings?

My 18 year old says she's bored, too. I encourage her to go out and do stuff but she says she's bored of the strip area.

My school aged children are always active- Nellis youth/teen center and the like.

But what about adults?

I've decided to go back to school for nursing and my 18 year old will start college too in August. So for the summer...what to do?

First of all, the sun comes up at the same time everywhere. It doesn't come up earlier here than anywhere else.

So what are your interests? Are you an indoor or outdoor person? Do you like to do strenous things or are you a couch potato? You can drive down most any street early in the morning and see lots of people out getting their exercise. There are pretty much the same things to do here as anywhere. What did you do before you came here for fun?

Is the 18 year old going to UNLV or a local college? If so, there are probably some school clubs or organizations that meet in the summer too. She could check those out.

If you're looking for something to do together, you guys could maybe take up golfing. There are lots of courses all over the valley, and early morning/evening weather is perfect for it.

Also - SkyMania is always fun, if you guys haven't been there yet. It's pretty unique. The whole family would actually probably enjoy it.

Then there are a whole bunch of local concerts always going on. And for 4th of July, Red White and Boom is usually pretty fun.

Golf...great idea!

Should have said the sun comes thru my window and wakes me up at 5:18am versus the 6:30 or 7 in Utah.

sun comes up earlier here as we are on the eastern side of the PST time zone (w/ respect to lets say LA)...same goes for all time zone - morning arrives earlier on the eastern side (and the wider the time zone, the bigger the difference)

I think Red White and Boom is usually held at the Desert Breeze Park.

Well that's obvious, but by what? 3 minutes?

Anyway, a similar question is frequently asked. So I'm saying that posters need to broaden their question if they want an answer that isn't just rambling off lists of things to do which might not interest them at all.

They cancelled "Red white and boom" last year. I hope they bring it back though. It was always the best and biggest fireworks spectacular in the valley.
This year all the Station casinos are having fireworks go off at exactly 9:30pm valley wide for the 4th.
Here in North Las Vegas, we get it twice. NLV always does their 4th of july Jubilee on the 3rd with fireworks. At Seastrand park off of Camino al norte.

I think it was cancelled due to wind? Not sure...

Lets hope for a nice, calm day.

I always love RW&B.
