Christmas is about emptying your wallet. Well, at least that's what they want you to believe. Kind of sad really.

This puppy looks similar to the one I found on the streets up here in Elko. We were blessed with the responsibility of caring for a little Shih Tzu baby like this for about 3 days and then he got to go home with his Mommy. What a doll!

We learned that we may want our own Shih Tzu one fine day.

Don't take this in a bad way, but I do not find those dogs attractive at all. I like pit bulls, but I really love these guys aesthetics wise. Call me crazy, but I love the spots and I think they are one of the cutest dogs out there. I used to have a black lab and a pit bull to take out on the strip back in 2006, but this guy would have been much more popular.

This reminded me of the greatest Christmas gift I ever heard of. Most of my family comes from small towns in the Adirondacks - real small town / artsie-fartsie /quaint places. They send you handmade Christmas cards made on birch bark instead of presents and it means a 1000x more. About 10 yrs ago my Grandmother was 89 and we all knew every Christmas could be the last. My cousin had a great Christmas gift idea. She got a mason jar and put a fancy quilted top on it. Inside the mason jar she put 52 questions. Everything from "who was your favorite president" to "where was your first kiss". Along with the jar of questions she gave my Grandmother a journal. She included a note asking my Grandmother to answer 1 question each week and then to give the journal back to her for next years Christmas gift. My Grandmother answered them all, wrote whole pages of information on some questions, included newspaper clippings on ones that were "event related", and returned the greatest Christmas gift of all time one year later. Some people get it - some dont.

(For what its worth my grandmother just turned 100 last week, still lives alone in the house she grew up in, keeps a small garden and walks to the post office every day-shes one of the best)

Going to bed early and getting a good night's sleep.

Subject to change.

I don't want to jinx my potential plans so I will keep them under my hat for now.

Going to sleep? Bah! Is this a new way to ring in the New Year? You better have plans!

I'm not sure! I can make an educated guess that if it's raining like this still I'll be inside somewhere, and not out on the Strip. How about you? For some reason I picture you in pink pajamas sipping hot cocoa.

I just want to know, why can't people fly in at the same time? Day two at the airport. At least I get to do some people watching.
