Any time I read of someone killing himself like this, including the man who killed himself after that shoot-out in Carson City, out comes my calculator, having once worked in the accounting field.

Let's see: a year in prison costs the taxpayers $40-$50k a year (indicrect costs included).

Multiply that by X number of years in prison, which saves the taxpayers a huge chunk of change, and? Can we at least thank this person by buying them their caskets and cemetery plots?

I know, I know! The prison guards wouldn't chip in a dime for this!

Sounds like a good investment of state funds.

Perhaps there could be public services spots on radio and TV just like the don't-want-your-baby-drop-it-off-at-the-fire-station program.

Metro has a Crimeview section. Type in two cross streets near your house, and click Crimes committed the last week or two weeks or month, and distance from your house (1 mile, 6 blocks, etc.) and if you can decipher all the symbols for buglary, assault, etc, you'll have it all!

But I warn you, curiosity can kill the cat! When I learned of this site I was shocked at all the crime committed within a mile, or even 6 blocks, of my house, of which you'll never read about in the newspaper.

Thanks but Im not looking for just the crimes, Im looking for faces to go with the crimes. Does CC post those? And Im not really looking in my area particularly. Im looking at Vegas as a whole.

I know other cities have websites that post pics of recent arrest of those convicted.

If you want to get to your destination on time then plan accordingly, leave a few minutes early and AVOID I-15 until Friday.
I get off on Valley View...take that to Sahara.

Just a heads up to anyone with a Bank of America account, my fiance got an extremely convincing call from a fake BOA rep claiming there was fraud on her account today. He already knew a lot but lacked various crucial pieces of information to what can only be assumed empty her account. Further search online as well as talking to people in the bank revealed it's nothing isolated. I left that bank long ago but as always don't give any info out over the phone.
