Here are some suggestions:

I have tried Lotus of Siam THREE times and have yet to get a good meal. It is one of the most over promoted restaurants on the internet.

Hash House a Go Go is pretty good but the portions are 2-3 times what most people would eat for a hearty restaurant.

There are a lot of Asian restaurants of various descriptions in the Chinatown area on Spring Mountain. I have never had a bad meal in the area. I really enjoyed Pho Vietnam on a couple of occasions.

Bootlegger's south on the Strip has pretty good Italian food and has live entertainment on the weekends. The atmosphere is "Old Vegas."

For Brazilian, there Yolie's on Paradise and they do a pretty decent churrascarria that will serve you 10-12 different meat selections with some side dishes. However, I would probably head to Samba's at the Mirage as my experience with the food has been better..

For Russian food, I like Artem, for Japanese, I like Togoshi Ramen, for barbecue I like either Memphis Championship BBQ (Memphis Style) or Roadrunner Cowboy Saloon (Texas Style).

Do you know the old saying about good food? You ask a fat man.

Back when I was taking business trips we would do a little survey of people who lived wherever we were going, or at least were pretty familiar with the place. The question would be something like this: "If you were leaving this town forever, where would you want to eat for one last time?" Or, "Where would you want your last meal here to be regardless of cost?"

Only time we ever had a bad restaurant was one time when we listened to a non-local.

Never listen to a non-local or a skinny person when it comes to food. That would be like having a strict vegan grill the perfect medium rare steak.

I assume when people are asking about good restaurants they don't mean fast food. But you know what assuming anything does?

Yes, Buzz, we all know that old joke. I'm surprised that In-n-Out keeps winning the RJ's readers poll for best burger. Kilroy's makes a much better burger, and it's local.

I'm looking forward to the new Russian restaurant in town, Matryoshka. How many restaurants do you know of that have their own
YouTube video?
