I'm doing this for the first time this month. If anyone could help with specifics I would appreciate it as I'm getting conflicting advice.
I plan to leave from the Wm Penn Hwy. park/ride on a Fri. or Sat.....time is flexible on Fri, must before noon on Sat.
Will I need to go the the downtown transbridge office to purchase my RT ticket? Some have said you can pay the fare when you board at Wm Penn Hwy. (??)

Are tickets for specific times....or if you decide to stay later can you still use the ticket you purchased for a later than planned return?

Has anyone left their car at Wm Penn...is it safe? or better to take an uber to the bus pickup?

Any other info is much appreciated...I'll probably be doing this a few times a month going forward.

Leaving your car at the William Penn lot is 100% safe and easy. It's a huge well-lit lot.

1) You can buy a ticket at the Sunoco on William Penn Highway , but there is no machine or ability to buy a ticket at the actual bus stop and there is no e-ticketing. You can do a cash fare on the bus, but that costs more and you need the exact fare (not sure what the cash fare is, but it's on their website).

2) Tickets are for the ride and not specific times, the bus is also 1st come 1st served, so in theory you may not get a seat (although William Penn is one of the 1st stops, so it's highly unlikely).

3) William Penn Park and Ride is super safe and well lit. I don't think you would have any issues parking there at all.

4) You can't eat/ drink on the bus and there is no bathroom, so plan accordingly (although I'm sure a water bottle and quiet/ non smelly snack are fine).

OP, have you gone into NYC another way? I have tried driving to Secaucus and taking NJT and prefer the bus.

There are stops at three places, but most frequently from Park and Ride

WILLIAM PENN HIGHWAY (P) Park & Ride
EASTON, PA Intermodal Transportation Center 123 South 3rd Street, Ste. 200
PHILLIPSBURG, NJ Phillipsburg Mall

Schedule to Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT)

On weekdays you can go directly to downtown Manhattan as well as PABT, but only from Park and Ride
Wall Street and Downtown Schedule

For a single person it is certainly more cost effective (especially if you are senior citizen), but for four people it makes sense to drive to Newark, or Harrison (Harrison is cheaper parking in garage) and take a PATH train for $2 a person.
Harrison PATH station

NJ Trains are very slow and not worth it

Cash fare on bus is high ($35 each way).

Advance Fare:
William Penn to PABT or downtown: $30.25 one way $57.50 round trip (senior citizen about half off)

Sorry for bringing this up.

I will be doing this as well. I just want to know if there's a cost for the parking and how much it would be. How pack is it in the morning? I am in Easton, but if William Highway Penn has a better chance of getting a seat, I might go there.

Thanks

Parking at the William Penn Highway lot is free. I'm unsure about availability, but it is a big lot, so parking should be available.

Yup. It's free and there is no way parking will be unavailable (there is an overflow lot, which I have never seen used).

FYI, parking at Clinton is a disaster, even by 7:30AM. Also, 99% of the time you can get a seat on the bus home.

Thank you! This helps planning.

Easton doesn't have a Park and Ride like William Penn right?
