Default Neighborhood Suggestions by Lexington Posters

Hey fellow posters, we seem to get a lot of out of town people on here asking about neighbohoods. I thought it may be nice to let them know which ones we liked for different price ranges.

So, what are your favorite neighborhoods and why for the 2 most popular Lexington price points: $120-160,000 and $200-$250,000.

Add some links for neighborhood associations and anything you think will be helpful. Here are a couple to get started: Fayette County Schools Home : Fayette County Public Schools | Lexington, Kentucky | It's About Kids! & the crime map Citizen's Crime Watch Home Page.

My favorite neighborhood in the $120-160,000 range pretty much anything in the 40514 zip code. Low crime, good schools, close to retail/dining. I also like Eastwood in NE Lex. The schools are decent, it is convenient to Hamburg and New Circle. It is not too far out either. For the $200-250,000 range, some of the cheaper houses in Andover Hills or Autumn Ridge. I just like this part of town. Decent schools, close to the interstate and Hamburg.
