My husband, 2 year old and me are considering moving to AR for a job move for me. We live in Las Vegas now and really would like to raise our daughter in a more family oriented town.

I would love any advise, comments, school info and ideas on houses to rent!

I can't really help you with Cabot but good luck with your search!

(sorry, I just don't like anyone's threads to go completely unanswered.)

I love the Cabot area! It is very pretty, the people are friendly and it's not too far from Little Rock if you need a bigger place to shop or just spend a Saturday. I have heard the schools are one of the best in Arkansas, and it's a quiet, nice place to live. I don't have much information off the top of my head, but the Little Rock newspaper, arkansasonline.com, will have more information on housing and employment, etc. The Conway newspaper, thecabin.net might have some information too. Good luck on your search!

If you are used to diversity, you can hang it up. It's nice, quiet and clean though. The schools are better than Little Rock's and it is very community oriented. Bryant is nice also.

Default Woodlands Edge

If you enjoy nature and hiking trails and a great place for kids, consider looking at the neighborhood Woodlands Edge. Woodlands Edge Little Rock Arkansas Subdivision - Home

My family lives out here and loves it!

Cabot is quite nice, but generic. It's a nice suburb-sprawl type town with reasonably priced houses and an excellent school system. Other than Little Rock Central and a few of the LR magnet or private schools, Cabot has some of the best schools in the area. Maumelle is also a very nice "close to L.R. but far enough out to feel small" suburb. I have family in Cabot and Maumelle and they both have children (and both love it there).

cabot is...ok. the schools are pretty good, but there is a HUGE drug problem. mainly just weed, you se it on the side of the dang road. drug deals constantly. even in the nicest of neighborhoods [magness creek, wildwood, k.k]. and just so you know, the town has ~25,000 people...and 0.30% of the population is black. i think its 97.8% white.

and this area is the "meth capital of arkansas" becuase its so close to little rock, but NOT in little rock...more of a "low-key" area.
