Serb? Only in your dreams about old conflicts.

Yeah! Ha, ha, ha! Hi-ho I can see you ...

In London you are just one of countless ethnic groups.

And? What?

Nobody cares about your country or thinks you are special.

So what? I'm not missing attention in my life and I'm not seeking attention around the world ... As you do on this Forum (and me stupid enough giving you ...)

Sooner you learn that the quicker you will fit in.

I've been in London as a tourist many times, London is great city and I've never met person frustrated like you. People in London are so nice and open minded ...

Salaries in London can't be that bad if you are still leaving your beloved motherland.

Croatia is not my motherland. I advise you that next time when someone open thread read it good and reply only if you have something smart to say (good advice would be also acceptable).

And as we say in my motherland ( ?? ): don't be frustrated it souses wrinkles.

How's that possible. I earn almost the same in Croatia!?!?

I'm shocked!

Or I'm looking wrong!?
I can't really comment on engineering as it's not the field i work in but out of interest, what sites are you looking for jobs on? Two of the main ones in the UK are Find Jobs. Build a Better Career. Find Your Calling. | Monster.co.uk and Totaljobs.com - Find jobs across the UK

You may also wish to contact specialist recruitment agencies (be careful which ones, some are good and some are dreadful - trial and error is often how you find this out) to find out what you can expect salary wise and if they have any vacancies available? They can often negotiate on your behalf as well, i've had a recruiter negotitate better contract terms for me in the past when i'd accepted a position through them.

Best of luck with your job search.

The UK has low salaries in general. Even with London "weighting", the salaries in London are still low, in my opinion.

If you are looking to make money and have a good quality of life, London / UK is not the place to come to. Only the most senior professionals make very good money in London.

Having said that, if it's experience you are looking for, and something great to put on your resume, then London is a great place to get that experience and it will stand to you when you look for jobs in the future.

What sort of a salary you earn will unfortunately be dictated by your profession.

I have worked in both education and Nursing, I have always earned a great wage, though more so in education. My hubby works in IT and has always commanded a fantastic salary. The closer you are to a specialist field, the better the money.

Wow!!! I am an American who lived in Ipswich for 4 years and made many wonderful friends from the motherland. That last sentence is not typical of most any English person I know or call friend. I used to be beset upon by my friends of which I think is way too liberal a nation for my "American Testosterone Beliefs" I don't think this person meant you any harm or the great Isle by asking the question of a salary.
