How about a soup kitchen? Call a local church or the red cross, they should be able to direct you.

It's not easy to find a place that will take prepared/perishable food - I've been there .
Finally found one: Helping Hands at 225 Broadway in Huntington Station (down the road from the LIRR)

My nephew worked in a catering hall as a waiter while he was going to high school and college. They threw out an obscene amount of food, most of it barely touched. The employees could take whatever they wanted but the rest had to be tossed into the dumpster. The owners were concerned about safe handling of any food they would have donated and were worried if it wasn't stored properly they would be liable.

The Hospitality Center where I work, Bay Shore, NY, closes down at 1 p.m. and reopens Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. I have several hundred pieces of bread that will be thrown away. Is there a place that will accept, today or tomorrow?
Regards,
BobofBayShore

Contact any local Catholic church and ask for their parish social ministry office. Most will only be too glad to accept it.
