Actually, there's a small portion of the East Birchwood community of Jericho, commonly referred to as the "F" section, (before Howard and Opie and Anthony made the "F" word a replacement for the word that rhymes with truck) that goes to Syosset.
Streets include Forest, Fox, Forsythia, Fall, etc... also Birchwood Park Drive between Robbins Lane and Maytime Drive goes to Syosset Schools.
Actually, the "F" section, despite having "Jericho, NY 11753" mailing addresses, is not in the Hamlet of Jericho; it's in the Hamlet of Syosset (Jericho mailing address). Prior to the 1990 federal census it was in the Hamlet of Locust Grove which, a that time, became part of the Hamlet of Syosset.

That may be true, but for the average person who lives in Jericho or sends mail to Jericho... it is Jericho. Unless you work for the census bureau, the post office or UPS, Jericho is what is commonly used.

The geographic confusions caused by the USPS' use of non-conforming ZIP Code postal zones is much greater than the average person is aware:
my children went to jericho schools my grandchildren go to syosset both are excellent the trip to your workplace depends on how close you are to penn station the time to the station is not your problem parking can be a pain now in hicksville because the lot is torn down but will change the jericho schools are worth the extra time
Absolutely not. No part of the Hamlet of Jericho is in the Syosset Central School District.
The area that is in Syosset and has "Jericho, NY 11753" mailing addresses is also in the Syosset Library District, the Syosset Fire District and the Syosset-Woodbury Park District, and not in the Jericho Library District, the Jericho Fire District nor the Jericho Park District.
Actually, prior to the 1990 Federal census, that area that has "Jericho, NY 11753" mailing addresses but is not in the Hamlet of Jericho was in the Hamlet of Locust Grove and concomitant with the 1990 Federal census was "annexed" into the Hamlet of Syosset. (The Syosset Central School District is a consolidation of the Syosset, Woodbury and Locust Grove School Districts.)
The Jericho Union Free School District (the more formal name is the Jericho-Wheatley Union Free School District, being a "union" of the two separate pre-existing "common" school districts) is partly in the Town of Oyster Bay and partly in the Town of North Hempstead and includes the Hamlet of Jericho (the Hamlet of Jericho is the unincorporated part of the school district) and parts of the Village of Muttontown, the Village of Brookville, the Village of Upper Brookville, the Village of East Hills, all of which are in the Town of Oyster Bay, and parts of the Village of Old Westbury that are in both the Town of Oyster Bay and the Town of North Hempstead.
None of 4 of the 5 villages -- Muttontown, Brookville, Upper Brookville and East Hills -- are in the service area of a same-named postal zone, and actually each of these villages are in multiple postal zones (the Village of Muttontown, for example, is in 5 different postal zones), none of which have the same name as the village they are serving (and, 5th village, the Village of Old Westbury, has a different border than does the "Old Westbury, NY 11568" ZIP Code postal zone)
I know this is six years later, but part of Hicksville goes to Jericho schools, and it is a relatively nice part of Hicksville.
