My wife and I have a joke about Dennys....the soda there is very good. Haven't been to the one in Centereach and don't plan on ever going there.
Dont know much about Red Robin, but certainly wont be going out to Westbury (or is it Carle Place, or East Garden City, or NorthEast Mineola?) to eat there.

A map of the Hamlet of Carle Place in the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County:

The Hamlet of Carle Place has a different border than does the "Carle Place, NY 11514" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Carle Place, NY 11514" mailing address and not be in the Hamlet of Carle Place and a place can be in the Hamlet of Carle Place and have other than a "Carle Place, NY 11514" mailing address): places that have a "Carle Place, NY 11514" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Carle Place are in the Village of Westbury; and, at the same time, there are places in the Hamlet of Carle Place that have a "Westbury, NY 11590" mailing address.
Red Robin will be a nice addition to Long Island. Very kid-friendly, a great place to take the family, however, the food is only above average at best.
Their burgers are a totally different animal to the great fast food burgers you get at All American or Five Guys, so I would not try to compare them. Thicker patties, cooked to order, gourmet toppings...good, but not great.

thank GOD we're finally getting a little known, moderately regarded sit-down chain restaurant that hearkens back to the goldenage of franchise eating establishments. This is what Long Island has been missing all these years... it'll really put us back on the map. I was actually in contract on a home in Barnegat Township, NJ because they still have a Bob's Big Boy and two Dairy Queens locally, but I'm pulling out of that now. How can I resist the allure of reliving the atmosphere of the Nassau Mall circa 1995 when a Red Robin briefly served crappy food to 4 patrons a day for a few months before going out of business? That's when Long Island was totally different and full of magical whimsy... I'm so psyched.
