I have been to plenty of events at the HTH over the years, from weddings to holiday parties. It will be sad to see it go.
Have a lot of good memories about that place.

I read a lot of younger people can't afford LI and have been moving elsewhere. So, I wonder if that resulted in business going down at HTH due to less weddings and other parties. It is too bad though, I also had good times there since the '80's.

At the time it was pretty. They had this enormous chandelier I recall.
I remember waiting for the valet parking outside on the steps and they had outdoor heating to keep you warm in the winter while you waited for your car.
I'm happy to see another Lowes closer to Huntington Village where I live because they do have additional building products than Home Depot and as a home improvements contractor I'll take all the variety I can get but with that said I will say......the service Home Depot gives you vs Lowes is night and day. Overall the service at Home Depot is a "lot" better than I ever expected from the day it opened and I use HD a real lot. I practically live there. I've repeatedly been disappointed in the service I get from the Farmingdale Lowes which is the closet Lowes to me currently. My wife said exactly the same thing. I'm hoping the Lowes that opens where the HTH was is run better than the one in Farmingdale.
im surprised home depot didnt buy the land to keep lowes out like they didnt with other vacant parts of long island.
