I have been doing nothing special but sticking to my plan since 1987 and using plain old fidelity funds im up 1200% since then through it all.

as long as you have a long term perspective there are no bad markets, only bad or no planning. a good plan allows for down markets, not rule them out.

You mean the WALL STREET CROOKS didn't steal your money.

You can't be saying that you worked, saved, and invested money in a variety of funds, stocks, bonds etc and...lo and behold...you are up 1,200%.

The pie was there...too bad you all missed your piece..now blame the baker.
Yeah, I missed out on that 1,000...... when I was 15 or 16.

I do make a very simple point..that the middle class "buying in" to the whole stock market gambling thing and taking on GOP political positions has been to its long term detriment. Basically the same can be said up into the Reagan adminstration when working people started buying all the Wall St. BS.

Actually, I am invested and I'm way up overall. I've been pretty good at timing things. I just think the whole thing is a joke based on principal. We are making money off companies that don't have any interest in our countries long term success. By furthering the stock market gambling fiasco, we hurt our country in the long run..but hey, I'm up, screw everybody else.

YEP.. thats exactly what im saying, in fact a simple of mix of 25% each in long term treasuries ,gold, a total market index fund and cash have returned an average cagr of over 9% a year just rebalancing once a year since 1987

in fact its returned over 9% for 35 years but thats longer than i have been doing it...

the other 1/2 of my portfolio follows the fidelity insight newsletter and that too i have been in since the late 1980's and thats up 1200% and uses just simple fidelity funds.

I have been active as an investor for 25 years and daily i see the markets being just the messenger for the news of the day good or bad.

i stick to my plan and turn off the talking heads and media with their trash.

Interest rates are going to be sub-4% on a 30-year mortgage... Take a look at the bond market = INSANITY. I'm gonna refi and maybe buy another house.

Go buy some stocks here [for a trade]. BAC is going to snap back to double-digits IMO. Way overdone to the down side.

I just re-fied from 6.00 to 4.59 on a 30-yr mortgage...took 5 min over the phone. I probably could have gotten that to 4% by waiting a week or two.

Do you think George W. Bush is STILL thinking we should have privatized our social security money by letting American citizens put their share in the market? ROFLMAO
