Just graduated, figure after taxes ill be getting a little more than 3000 a month.
My main concern is finding a place rather quickly. Close to the border of Nassau and Suffolk would be fine, anywhere around this area or within say..20 miles - close to the parkway but again... can be further of course.
Also I don't really have credit? I have had a CC for over one year and have been late twice (college expenses...) but have paid each back within approx 30 days.
I have searched the forum a little bit but trying to get some good updated info.
Well if you have any advice on areas to live in and stay away from? Can I expect a decent apt for around 1200 and if so where are good places to be. I will be working closer to Plainview but I am open to whatever.

Are you looking for a one bedroom apartment?
Also, since most apartments are listed through Real Estate Brokers, do you have enough to pay at least 1 month security, first month's rent and one month broker fee? Have you checked your credit score and your credit report? Landlords are getting more cautious these days and want to be reasonably sure they're getting good tenants...
I was considering avoiding a broker fee by locating good areas with decent living in this price range. Other than this I could put up approx 3000 I suspect.
How about approximate taxes? I calculated .2 and .25 of total income. Is that a fair ball park? Single male, no dependents, etc.
