If I understand correctly, a household is a taxpaying unit, whereas a family is everybody who lives under the same roof. So if you have have a mother, father, two kids, and Uncle Harry living under the same roof, you have 4 people in your household (plus Uncle Harry, who's a seperate household), and 5 people in the family.

There are approximately one million households in Nassau and Suffolk. Being generous, your poll will garner 40 responses. How will this ridiculously small sample be meaningful in any way?

It's a forum, where perfectly happy/content people won't bother to even create an account. Of course the above is true.

You make a very good point.
Its just a representative sample of this board which I believe to be a fairy good x-section of our community.
Nothing more.

Sorry you were priced out of the market....hows the Piggly Wiggly in Charleston?

Sorry OBH

This can be that vote if youre ok with it.

So far it looks like 22% of us are under 100k and quite a few are above 150k.

I don't know, but I may be finding out in a few years because that is one of my possible retirement destinations along with St. Thomas. The move will be primarily climate driven, but I won't object to the secondary benefit of lower taxes.

It never ceases to amaze me how you continue to make unenlightened comments about people you don't even know like the bolded one above.

I agree with this. I couldn't vote b/c our total income is in between this range.
