Ah nice -- I haven't tried converting to CAT5 (since coax is just fine for me), but I have read in numerous places.. specifically DSLReports.. that switching is no big deal but you lose VOD and I think something else.
EDIT: And I just caught that I typed MoCA instead of ONT
On DSLreports, there is a long dissertation on what configurations can be done to get VOD and channel guide and caller-ID to work. Remove DVR control will fail, but I am not all that interested in it anyway. I suspect, however, that I should be able to get it to work once I "snoop" the traffic and see what it does. Or not. If I am successful, it will be posted at dslreports

MoCA, mocha, chocolate, shake. Latte. Something.
I knew what you meant
Yep I was looking at simply having the ONT connect directly with my personal DD-WRT router, but I decided I didn't care enough and just put it behind the Actiontec
mongoose is right, this will end up with TJ and one of Taz's new ids arguing back and forth. However I want to ask, does Cablevision still have those random outages at night where you have to wait til the next morning to get internet service back? How often does this happen to any current CV customers out there?
@TJ_Lamb , from another thread: I see what you're saying about the new Fios time bar. I didn't notice it at first because I dvr everything. But what a step backwards that was when youre watching-surfing live TV. Stupid.
random outages? Ive never had one of those. must be an isolated incident.
I was previously on the regular optimum package with HBO for a year and it expired. When I saw the new bill I called in and complained because no one informed me of the end of the promotion. They offered me Optimum Gold for the same price that I paid for the regular package (for a year) and they credited the bill I had in my hand.

I actually DO remember getting those when i was using CV. Internet would go out for upwards of 4 hours during peek hours. Happened probably once a month.
Got EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL THEY OFFER(I think in NYC its a special), 35/35 internet, phone(which comes with dedicated battery backup) multi room dvr free for life and a SD box, xbox live subscription and game, month to month contract for 114.99 a month.
Their on demand SLAYS CV, littereally every channel has some content.. When we called to disconnect, CV was going to bring down to 88$ a month. We declined.
