I don't believe it is a matter of channel surfing so much as it is incorrectly inputting numbers.
My household is way beyond having to care what shows up on the box, but I have noticed that if someone is a little impatient or doesn't press a button firmly the next thing you know you're re-entering numbers and wind up with, 313 instead of 31.
In all fairness, I could probably count on one hand the number of times a porn title has come up in the channel guide with a little one around.

Some of the titles are over the top and pretty explicit, young kids don't need to be exposed like this regardless of what they're hearing at school.
